Hello all,

Welcome to the official first blog post of Mommasmithx2 from Instagram. I’ve decided on the blog name Wanderlust Momma Smith due to my passion for traveling with my little ones.

I’ll start with more about me!

My name is Johna Smith. I’m a soon to be 27 year old stay at home mom of 2. I’ve been happily married to my husband, Matt, since September 27, 2013.

My daughter, Leona, was born on October 14, 2014 via unnececsarean (unneeded csection) and my son, Jensen, was born via home VBAC on April 18, 2016. Both of my children were very planned and conceived thanks to fertility medication. I have confirmed PCOS and suspected endometriosis. Lots of super long cycles and rarely any ovulation. I suffered quite a lot of birth trauma from Leona’s arrival to the world and was never able to fully breastfeed her. Jensen has been exclusively breastfed right from the start and is still going strong at nearly 15 months old!

I’m an avid baby-wearer and focus mainly on ring slings. I have tried wraps and soft-structure carriers but just never liked them as much. I need something quick and easy since we are always on the go! My all time favorite ring slings are from the Middle Earth collection produced by Oscha Slings. I have Ancients of Gondor Ithilidin, Doors of Durin, and Legend of Frodo Ore. All are right hand orientation and pleated shoulder, my favorites!

I was raised by a single mother who was a flight attendant all of my younger years. When she wasn’t working, we were taking our camper all over the USA. I have been to 49 states (lacking Alaska!) and 14 countries. I even did a summer study abroad in New Zealand during my time at the University of Memphis. Traveling has always been in my blood and I’m so fortunate to now be able to share that passion with my kids.

Thanks for reading!

Stay tuned for the story of Jensen’s home VBAC! (with pics!)

  1. Awesome introduction! I have PCOS too, and I have heard terrible things about endometritis; I can’t possibly think about having both! I hope that your cycles get easier for you! Also, I love your hair color!

    • Thank you so much!
It really isn’t a fun combination. I would like to have a third baby one day but dread having to use medication again and all the waiting to conceive. I also had a miscarriage before my first born. Making babies isn’t too fun some of the time ;( but they’re 100% worth it!
